Buddha’s light shines upon Malaysia! August 27th is an auspicious and joyful day! Over 5,000 people attended “The Ullambana Blessing Ceremony” organized by Bodhi Meditation at Setia City Convention Center (SCCC).

On the occasion of the Ullambana Festival on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, known as “Buddha’s Joyful Day,” we have the opportunity to make offerings, vows, prayer, repentance, and chanting while circumambulating, for our ancestors, parents, departed loved ones, and all sentient beings. May the Buddha’s light shine upon them, freeing them from negative paths and bringing purity and peace; may our living relatives be freed from obstacles, gain blessings and longevity, and be surrounded by auspicious light.

At the center of the hall stood two grand 6-meter-high ancient Thangkas of the Earth Store Bodhisattva and Mahākāla, bestowed by Grandmaster JinBodhi. These rare and majestic Thangkas inspired deep respect, gratitude, and admiration in all guests. People gathered to gaze, pay homage, and chant while circumambulating the venue, creating a scene of profound blessings and auspiciousness.

In each chanting procession, nearly a thousand people gathered with sincerity to circle the venue, chanting “Om ha ha ha wei san ma ya soha.” The resounding chants filled the air, transcending time and space, enveloping everyone in the boundless vow, compassionate deeds, and benevolent energy of the Earth Store Bodhisattva. Many were deeply moved, shedding tears of gratitude and repentance.

The venue also featured 10 solemn altar mandalas for ancestral tablets. Through the great vow and deeds of the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and the Earth Store Bodhisattva, who vowed not to attain Buddhahood until hell is empty, prayers were offered for the salvation of departed loved ones, ancestors, karmic creditors, and all sentient beings. The ceremony aimed to help them attain liberation and be reborn in the Pure Land. May all those connected to this ceremony enjoy abundance, peace, auspiciousness, divine protection, and freedom from all calamities.

In addition, the event featured “energy healing,” “Medicine Buddha divination lots,” and various food stalls. The auspicious blessed items were also prepared for the guests, a variety of lucky draws, allowing everyone to bring home blessings and happiness!

The “2023 Ullambana Blessing Ceremony” concluded auspiciously amid the joyful atmosphere!

We look forward to seeing you again in the next “Medicine Buddha Blessing Ceremony!”
